Herewith offered a table that was made during the second world war in England. The table is marked with the Furniture Scheme logo that was given to a number of manufacturers who were allowed to produce furniture during the war because of wood scarcity. The special thing about this table is that it was made in the style of George Nakashima in a period where this was not known at all. The manufacturers that were allowed to produce under the furniture scheme were therefore instructed to produce very functional and simple furniture during that period. This makes this table very special, as it was not produced in accordance with this look at all. The table is in a very good condition and has an amazing patina.
