Set of 9 Gourmet Egg Cups by Kristian Vedel for Torben Ørksov of Denmark, 1960s SOLD
€295,00
Kristian Vedel's Gourmet egg cups were part of a melamine service he designed in the early 1960s for the Danish luxury goods manufacturer Torben Ørskov. The architect's research into the qualities and properties of the revolutionary new plastic melamine, which began with his stackable melamine dinnerware, continued. The egg cups again exploit melamine's ability to produce different textural effects, and their edges taper to a point so fine they are almost sharp. We have 9 of Vedel's Gourmet egg cups available, three in black and 6 in red with a diameter of 11 cm and all three with the text "Gourmet. Torben Ørskov & Co Denmark". Seven of the nine are in excellent condition with no damage, two have a small chip on the bottom and rim. See photos
